Targeted Traffic for Your Internet Business
If you are operating a website that offers a product or service then you know without traffic your internet business will not succeed. So, it goes without saying that pulling in millions of hits will automatically lead to millions in profits correct? Nope. Just because traffic is being drawn to your site does not automatically mean it will be traffic that will be your offerings. This is a fundamental notion many fail to grasp: random traffic drawn in huge volumes simply does not translate into sales or revenue. Instead, what is required is highly targeted traffic that is more likely to actually purchase your products. This, of course, brings up the logical question. How does one bring in all the lucrative targeted traffic?
At first glance, this seems like a daunting question that would bring forth a complicated response. Not so! In fact, the solution is actually quite simple. Basically, targeted traffic is traffic that moves from similar websites. In other words, if one operates a website that sells skiing equipment, it would be beneficial to place links on blogs that cover skiing, skiing message boards, skiing news and information websites, etc. This way, the traffic that is derived from those links will almost exclusively be interested in skiing. Now contrast this to purchasing links on a multitude of link directories that include many different subjects. You may get thousands of hits, but how many of those people have an actual interest in skiing? (Yes, there is value in the search engine optimization benefits of directory listings, but that is another story). Needless to say, the traffic coming in from relevant sites is far more beneficial to your internet business than a mass cavalcade of traffic from who knows where.
Building targeted traffic is not as complex as some may believe, and its benefits are huge. So, it goes without saying that this is the type of traffic you want to draw in order to have a successful internet business.

I agree it is not complex, but time consuming. You have to be consistent and not give up! It does eventually pay off. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Use several different SEO methods and if you can swing it also add some PPC. Just make sure you know what your doing. It can be very costly otherwise.
