social media sites

The adage "think before speaking" has become "think before you write." In this age of instant messaging, companies need to manage their online words thoughtfully. In the world of marketing, social media is seen as the next gold rush of millions of people have embraced social networking as a daily routine. Social media is presented as the newest tool available to marketers and organizations. It not only offers a revolutionary means for connecting with customers, sales prospects, or the media, but also helps manage reputation brand and influence public perceptions. The media is (not so) secret weapon to compete with the big boys, "raising campaigns traditional marketing and the engine of search optimization efforts.

HubSpot Research recently published by MarketProfs, considers the Blog companies welcome an average 55% more visitors to their sites of companies that do not. And they can generate 97% more external links and 434% more pages Indexed, that influence search rankings of a company. Furthermore, a recent McKinsey global survey of about 1,700 executives of businesses found that 69% of respondents said measurable benefits to social networks, including a lower cost of doing business, better access to knowledge, increasing marketing effectiveness, vision for the development of more innovative products and services, and higher income.

Organizations should do a little planning, however, before integration of social networks in their day to day. The media represents an opportunity and a risk, with emphasis on the latter among people that either do not understand or prefer to wait until it becomes mainstream. An overwhelming 81% of respondents to a survey by Russell Herder and Ethos of Law Business in 2009 social media, seen as a security risk to the company, citing concerns about viruses and malware (which can infiltrate the enterprise IT system), and the potential for company confidential information was leaked. Both are valid concerns. Companies can, however, take action to help protect your organization. It is always good for the firewall application, issue a company policy of social networks that explain how each channel can be used, implementing approval processes for the positions of those employed in social media sites (nobody wants to go through what Dominos Pizza was by the video posted on YouTube for two employees!), and block all access to social networking sites on company servers.

Many companies know the benefits associated with the use of social media, but many are unwilling to put their money where their mouth is, citing the fear and apathy, the main barriers to use. An important thing to remember is that the company's participation in social media can really enhance their reputation. Research conducted by Alterian in August 2009 found that 27% of marketers surveyed believe that social media has had the greatest impact on customer experience last year. In addition, 48% of respondents believe that have the greatest impact in the coming year. Among the unique advantages that social networking offers companies involved in the interaction with customers (and public) and interested in building their reputation, two stand out from the crowd.

The first is the ability to establish communities of supporters that can keep you informed (and perhaps even lead to his defense) if you are publishing derogatory remarks against their brand. The second is the potential for positive influence, viral word of mouth spread your brand, thanks to colleagues who share the attributes of social media. A recent study conducted by Avanade, a global IT consulting company, acknowledged that social media at some point, get into the business "to hidden, if not proactively managed. "We all remember great song for David FR 80:" Words Do not Come Easy. "However, if you do not has initiated its marketing strategy social media, now is definitely the time.
