affiliate code

affiliate code
Is it better or worse for affiliate links to be encrypted or hidden tracking code for SEO purposes?

With Commission Junction, Shareasale and I think, they always ask if you want the encrypted link and / or hidden before you get your HTML code. I believe I read Google frowns on one or both of these methods, but not I remember exactly? Anyone have experience, knowledge and thoughts on this?

The correct way to handle affiliate links is that they do not show the affiliate code in the link. Doing so will result in less of a click through rate that will result in a loss of potential income. The code following example is a method to hide the affiliate links event.returnValue = false "href = http://www.SITENAME.com/URL/ rel =" nofollow "> anchor text must also be "nofollow" on that link will not pass any PR to the affiliate site. What is nofollow? Http: / / www.contemedia.com/blog/what-is-nofollow/ Good luck Chadwick

Multiple Streams of Internet Income

August 17th, 2009

You hear people all the time speaking of multiple streams of income on the internet, and it is definitely a strategy you want to take with your internet business. However, the route many self proclaimed marketing gurus and top earners are using is not the appropriate method to follow.

What I am talking about here is avoiding the scam artists who claim they are making a boatload of money in several business opportunities at the same time without providing any proof that what they are doing is working. For example, in the business opportunity realm, it makes little sense to be pushing some type of portfolio of competing businesses. The truth is that these folks who usually seem to be changing the opportunities they are involved with on a weekly basis are making very little online.

The proper way to create multiple streams of internet income is to take one niche and offer various items people in that niche need to reach their goals. To stay with the home business opportunity niche as an example, you would offer preferably a single business opportunity on the back end, while offering tools along the way your prospect needs such as domain names, hosting, autoresponders, traffic generation tools like Traffic Geyser, and the like. Doing this will also raise your credibility amongst your customers by providing content and tools they need rather than consistently just presenting offers to them.

This simple approach approach to multiple streams of internet income will take you a long way. As Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

Social Media Money System

July 23rd, 2009

If you missed last night’s free Social Media Money System webinar with Perry Belcher, you truly missed out on some gems. For those not familiar with the Social Media Money System, it’s Perry’s new program that he is releasing that shows how he has used free social media sites like twitter, facebook, youtube and wordpress to build a 50,000+ email list as well as over 100,000 twitter followers in less than a year. More importantly for your wallet, Perry explains how he is making $1 per follower per month. With so many using these social networking sites but not knowing how to profit from their time spent there, this is a truly valuable commodity.

Perry started the webinar off by getting personal and explaining a legal situation he was faced with a couple years ago that basically lost everything for him. It taught him to not get caught up in the hype when promoting something, and to just be honest and yourself. In a time where people can easily see through any lies or exaggerations you may be trying to portray, you must always be transparent, be friendly, and provide good valuable content.

There were too many little nuggets to get into here, but one he shared covers a problem many have today. What exactly to share when using twitter? Perry explains that people buy People magazine to see celebrities doing normal stuff like grocery shopping, so not to be afraid to tell people simple things like that about yourself. He also shared a site called stufftotweet.com which is a great place to get good valuable content to retweet that your audience will be interested in.

The bottom line of what Perry teaches is that people do business with people they know, like and trust. The challenge most have is how to do this on the internet where there is so much competition. The Social Media Money System was made to show you how to brand yourself, become popular, and gain the influence needed to build a list that can give you cash on demand.

To learn how you can become a social medial star and gain profits the right way using serrvices like facebook, twitter and youtube, visit Social Media Money System today before it sells out.

Starting An Internet Business? What Should I Do First?

July 1st, 2009

So you’ve made the wise decision to start an internet business, but now what?

This is the basic question most are faced with after diving in to this massive pool we call the internet. Well the answer is not as complicated as it may seem. While there are many intricacies to worry about as you grow such as improving conversions, and playing with your copy and website, the first thing you really need to focus on is mastering one method to drive traffic to your website.

The key here is to remain focused at first at mastering one method of promotion. There are so many ways to promote online today, it is easy to get confused and spend time doing multiple things, but if you truly master one method, you may not ever have to learn another method again. The best article writer for example does not need to spend an excess amount of time on twitter, and vice versa.

What method should you start with? Well that’s really up to you. Many are effective, so just begin with the one that fits your current skill set or interest the most.

Need some ideas? Here are a few:

  • Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
  • Video Marketing (YouTube, Revver, etc.)
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Blogging
  • Article Marketing
  • Press Release Marketing

Mastering any one of these methods will jumpstart your internet business.

The next step lies in time management and personal accountability. It’s important to keep the “work” part in work at home business! I realize how easy it is to get distracted between phone calls, emails, watching videos, twittering, texting and the rest. Spending your time chatting in Facebook rather than building your business is easy to do.

To avoid this, you must track your time expenditures in detail. You could simply write it down in a notebook, or start a spreadsheet on your computer, whatever works for you. After a week or so, you will be able to review it and see where you are spending your time, as well as if the places you are spending your time in are profitable.

The underlying theme here is focus. If you focus on mastering one skill, and focus on business building activities daily versus falling for distractions, you will find it easier to successfully start an internet business.
